NASA Glenn Space Power Facility Inaugurates 153dB RATF

In July of 2013, NASA Glenn Space Power Facility utilized the world's most powerful reverberant acoustic test facility (RATF) to simulate launch sound level conditions on SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The test was successful and "confirmed the fairing could withstand conditions associated with space travel." Team Corporation manufactured and installed a total of twelve (12) Mark VI and eleven (11) Mark VII acoustic modulators capable of producing 150kW and 250kW of acoustic power respectively. Each modulator was connected to custom designed horns manufactured by AiOLOS Engineering of Canada (www.aiolos.com) capable of producing an acoustic frequency from 25Hz to 160Hz.
